A Little About Us...

Heather Luster began working with animals as a teenager at a stable where she owned, trained and groomed race horses. From there she also began to train dogs, both for hunting and for house training. Most recently her love for people and animals led her to work as a teacher before returning to college where she received her degree with highest honors as a Veterinary Assistant.

Heather continues to stay active in the showdog world: not only has she entered and won high honors in numerous shows, but Heather also works as a dog show judge for both the UKC and AKC. And naturally, Heather is a licensed breeder with AKC collies and UKC hunting dogs.

As an avid dog lover, not only does Heather spend her free time training and breeding, but she also happens to own her own dog kennel offering long-term, day-care and grooming services. Right from its beginnings, L & L Kennels has been a very successful enterprise, mostly due to its cleanliness, reasonable rates and Heather's amazing work ethic. Above all else, the comfort and happiness of her canine guests comes first, and the amount of repeat clients is a solid testimonial to that end.

Ron Luster is more of a "behind-the-scenes" owner at L & L Kennels, and has been working with dogs for over thirty years. For many years he worked with the state, helping stray and runaway dogs off the streets. He has also helped countless dogs he has found injured over the years receive medical attention, and like Heather has trained dogs as well. Additionally, Ron has volunteered his time working with dogs with behavorial problems. Like Heather, Ron belongs to the Collie Club of America, and assists Heather with her dog show and breeding responsibilities.
